FACTS ABOUT SUBLOGIC'S "USA" SCENERIES

Here are the facts with respect to Sublogic's "USA" sceneries. For those that do not know, these sceneries (Called USA East and USA West) cover the entire continental US and have ALL the airports, NAVAIDS, and major geographic features (Cities, mountains, rivers, roads, railroads, etc). USA is/was sold as either two parts-East and West (of the Mississippi river) on CDROM or 3.5 diskettes or bundled complete with Revision E (Latest) of ATP on CDROM. Some of the original versions could be installed to work with FS4! Here are the facts about these sceneries:

• There are two versions of USA East/West scenery:
  "Version1" that looks like FS4 ASD scenery and has been sold bundled with ATP on CDROM. It works with ATP, Flight Lite, Flight Lite Plus (see below) or, depending on the date purchased, even FS4! I really like the night effects flying over urban areas. "Revision B" works ONLY with Flight Lite, Flight Lite Plus or Sierra's FLIGHT. It utilizes more shading and texturing of the scenery, takes more DOS memory and slows the frame rate.
• USA East/West scenery does NOT work with either FS5.0a, 5.1 or FSFW95. At one time SubLogic did distribute a "buggy" interface FSO file that allowed FS5.0 users to fly the USA Version1 scenery. SubLogic never updated it for FS5.0a or 5.1. The last SubLogic newsletter listed an FS5 only version of USA but it was never released. The promised ATP Canadian scenery was also never released. Scenery of Toronto and Montreal is being bundled with "Sierra's FLIGHT" (See below).
• USA Version1 works fine with the "3D-AGS" or "ATP Companion" addon.
• As confirmed by Sierra, they will NOT sell an FS5 compatible version of USA. They intend to compete directly with Microsoft. You can expect the basics of the USA Rev. B scenery to be incorporated into "Pro Pilot."
• UK/Great Britain Scenery: SubLogic also developed and sold a much simpiler scenery collection for Great Britain /UK (and another for California) that works with FS4 or ATP.
